The 2016 Buick Envision compact luxury crossover will start at $42,995 for the Premium I trim level and $45,635 for the Premium II trim level when it launches in the United States this summer.

- Turbo 2.0L LTG engine
- All-wheel-drive
- Leather seats
- Heated steering wheel
- Tri-zone climate control
- Heated rear seats
- 8-inch Driver Information Center

- Lane departure warning with lane keep assist

We should note that the 2017 Buick Envision will start at $34,990, which is $8,005 lower than the 2016 model as a result of three “lesser” trim levels.

And this is where the next enclave is going up in price
Most likely the next Enclave is going up in price. Rarely does any product have a price decrease with a new generation.
How can Buick justify this level of pricing for a Chinese built SUV of this size? It is about $7,000 higher than I expected. I could have had some interest in the Envision, but not at this price. Did they set the price artificially high to offset it’s Chinese origin in attempt to create a premium image? I will now wait for the next generation Equinox/Terrain knowing that the high end model,of either will have much of the same content for thousands less.
Rich, go on Buick’s website, if you dig it has the 2016 & 2017 trim starting prices
2016 just has the 2 Premium trims (also read the last sentence of the article)…
The starting prices for the other trims that will be available on the 2017 in the fall of 2016:
Envision trim: $34,990
Convenience: $33,795
Leather: $38,645
Premium I: $43,245
Premium II: $45,885
This has all the makings for a fail! Who in their right mind would pick this over say an XT5? Same price better vehicle. If Buick succeeds in this endeavor it goes to show that 1. Americans dont mind a car being made in China and 2. Crossovers crossovers crossovers.
yes, I’d buy the XT5 over this if I even wanted a Crossover
Agreed. It’s a no-brainer. XT5 is better looking , has the V6, and made in the USA.
When I read this article.. I could hear Bruce Springsteen’s Born in the U.S.A. in my head as this Chinese import, 2016 Buick Envision, has a higher base price than either the 2016 Cadillac XT5 which has a standard 3.6L V6 or the 2017 GMC Acadia; further, you’ve got to think the 2017 GMC Acadia with an entry base price of $30K will be a sleeper hit.
Premium I isn’t a base model.
I feel sorry for you. Born in the U.S.A? who cares? just buy a damn XT5 and be happy.
I think you are going to find that there will be no real base model here and only the choice of two main package with many options.
Keep in mind GM is not going to bring a ton of these in and it will sell in small numbers compared to the other models. China can sell about all they can build as it is.
The Regal when it came from Germany was limited in options and packages for the same reasons.
The other deal is most Buick dealers also have the Terrain so this model is more just add on sales than anything else.
As for built in China get over it. If you don’t like that just don’t buy it but stop the questionable build quality thinking as it is not true in this case as with many of their products. The truth is it is more scary as China is now matching the quality of our products on many things. Before we had an advantage but that advantage is starting to disappear and that is more a worry than cheap knock off items.
I hope most of you realize most of the parts of the computer you are complain on came from China and works well enough to let you voice your opinion with no flaw.
It is OK to be mad but at least be accurate about what you are mad about.
For this kind of money, one can buy an Acura RDX with the Advance Package. This would get a V6 engine with cylinder deactivation, equivalent features, proven reliability, and a far higher resale value than any Buick in recent history. I would advise scratching the “lower” trim levels, repricing the vehicle at those listed for standard and “convenience” trims, and be done with it.
“Proven Reliability”. Oh, the Marketing. Look what you’ve done to the people. Now an Acura has “proven reliability” even though it’s an overpriced Honda. Do you think by yourself or you let the japanese do that for you?
RDX doesn’t have Android Auto, or full speed range adaptive cruise control, or the safety alert seat.
I was hoping it would fail… Thanks GM for over pricing it,!
Glad I’m not the only one rooting against this thing.
1st Step of going down for GM!
A Chinese made SUV for the price of an XT5 or a Japan Made Lexus NX or Mazda CX-9.
Complete joke.
Buick has the potential to move up market into the SRX position with the XT5 attempting to step up as well
In spite of the name, Premium I is not very premium when you look at the options its missing. Throw in “made in China” and this is going to be fun to watch as they sit on dealer lots at $27,500.
When Nissan Rogue’s and Mitsubishi Outlanders start @ $24K. Bigger V6 Murano’s and Pathfinders start at 30K Sure optinos can easily add 10G’s to the base, but I thnk I see a lot more value in any of these models for less then 42 grand.
Expect rebates soon after intruduction
