Alright, ladies and gents. The day (some of) you have been waiting for is finally here: the specifications of the 2017 Cadillac XT5 midsize luxury CUV have been updated from preliminary to final.
A few items of interest:
Output of the 3.6L V-6 LGX engine has been SAE-certified at 310 horsepower and 271 pound-feet of torque
Fuel economy has been estimated by GM as 19 MPG city, 27 MPG highway for the FWD model, and 18 MPG city, 26 MPG highway for the AWD version
Both of the engines — the 3.6L V-6 LGX and 2.0L I-4 Turbo LTG — are mated exclusively to the eight-speed AWF8F45 transmission. As a reminder, the 2.0L Turbo will not be offered in North America; at least not at launch.
GM’s full name of the Electronic Precision Shift digital shifter is Electronic Transmission Range Selector (ETRS)
Estimated base curb weights for the crossover, which is based on GM’s new C1 platform, are as follows:
XT5 base FWD: 3,985 pounds (1,808 kilograms) vs. 4,277 pounds (1,940 kilograms) for the 2016 SRX FWD, meaning that the XT5 is 292 pounds (132 kilograms) lighter than the SRX in FWD flavor
XT5 Luxury trim AWD: 4,257 pounds (1,939 kilograms) vs. 4,442 pounds (2,015 kilograms) for the 2016 SRX AWD, meaning that the XT5 is 185Â pounds (76 kilograms) lighter than the SRX in AWD flavor
