Spotting Differences In The 2017 C7 Corvette Grand Sport

For Corvette aficionados, it probably won’t be too difficult to tell the Stingray, Grand Sport and Z06 apart on the daily. However, not everyone is a Corvette diehard.

Autoblog has taken the time to put together a conclusive spotter’s guide for the 2017 C7 Corvette Grand Sport to help your eyes pick Grand Sports out from the crowd once the latest variant of Corvette hits the streets this summer.

It begins with the hood, which retains its Stingray roots due to the 6.2-liter LT1 V8 engine. The Z06 arrives with a higher, bulging hood to accommodate the supercharged LT4 V8 engine. In addition, the Grand Sport also weighs less, and has a specific suspension tune.

Grand Sport wheels help give away the variant, but behind those unique pieces are Z06 brakes. In fact, the 2017 C7 Grand Sport may also be had with the hardcore Z07 package, however, the man downforce add-ons are not available, only because the Grand Sport does not require them. The super sticky Michelin Pilot Sport 2 Cup tires are ready and willing, however. Ditto on the carbon-ceramic brakes.

Finally, C7 Stingray taillights are the biggest clue to differentiate the Grand Sport and Z06. The Z06 prowls the streets with blacked-out units, while the Grand Sport retains the red lenses found on the Stingray.

Of course, there is more, and Autoblog has put together a nifty interactive presentation to explore, which we suggest you have a look at at the link above.
