Despite Yenko being a thing of the past, and a well regarded thing at that, that fact hasn’t stopped Speciality Vehicle Engineering from reincarnating the name into the sixth-generation of Chevrolet Camaro.
Behold the 2016 Yenko Camaro, complete with cues to bring the stories name to the present. SV has taken great care to ensure the Yenko package is a compelling one. That includes a hand-built, 427 cubic-inch V8 engine with aluminum block and heads, HD dual-disc clutch assembly and a carbon-fiber hood and grille. Altogether, the powertrain pushes 700 hp of fun.
So, yes, the power is present, but the execution is masterful. Exterior Yenko badging is found in three places around the car, and the 2016 Chevrolet Camaro proudly presents its 427 cubic-inches with additional badges throughout the exterior, too.
Chunky five-spoke wheels evoke the spirit of yesteryear, and the hood strip and hood cowl graphics only seal the deal for a compelling Yenko Camaro.
Inside, Yenko embroidered head rests and floor mats, plus a numbered dash plaque and key fobs help make the buyer really feel they’re about to own something quite special.
Overall, not a bad way to spruce up a standard 2016 Camaro into something that will really start conversations.

Will this actually happen??
Need to change that ugly factory rear spoiler to the blade style spoiler too.
I bet it will be priced way up there for only a select few to afford.
I’d love to own a Yenko Camaro one day for the nostalgia factor, even if it is something like this. Yenko was located in my hometown, but was pretty close to being out of business by the time I was old enough to remember. These guys seem to have it down. The engine appears to be an LS7, but their site says LT1 based.
I know why they do this and at least they are doing engine work but to me it really is not a Yenko.
Time to do a new name like Roush does for Ford. Make it something done by someone living. Hendrick does some cars and some other names could be used by someone living doing real feed back on how to tune the car.
Even the Shelby Mustangs have lost some luster with no Carol feed back and not even being build in Vegas anymore.
And yes dump the wing and use the blade off the V6 if you have to.
Scott3, fill me in. I see this comment a lot about the spoiler. why is the wing not liked and the blade more desired.
is the wing dated?
