Chevrolet brought some heavy machinery to the 2016 Geneva Motor Show, including the 2017 C7 Corvette Grand Sport. But, for those who likely cannot afford a Corvette of any sort, the sixth-generation Chevrolet Camaro will do.
And the Camaro was revealed to our friends in the old world today. Chevrolet officially graced Geneva with the latest Camaro, albeit, still in left-hand drive form. The 2016 Chevrolet Camaro‘s Alpha platform does not support most the UK’s right-hand drive habit. A genuine sorry, from us Yanks.
Everything crammed in to the 2016 Camaro is alive and well for Europeans, including all three engine choices: the 2.0-liter LTG turbocharged four-cylinder, 3.6-liter LGX V6 and 6.2-liter LT1 V8.
Chevrolet likely does not expect to see many Camaros across the pond, but it’s giving anyone a chance to own one. The sixth-generation Camaro will go on sale this coming June with a starting price of €39,900.

“The 2016 Chevrolet Camaro‘s Alpha platform does not support most of Europe’s right-hand drive habit”.
Uhm…England is the only country in Europe with right-hand drive “habits”. I thought you would know that Mr. Szymkowski.
Greg,
You’re absolutely correct, pardon my over-reaching generalization, for whatever reason I decided to make. Thanks for catching that slip up.
Cheers,
Sean
It’s all good Sean.
I was wondering about something else and maybe you guys at GM Authority can answer my question.
Where are Corvettes and Camaros sold in Europe since Chevrolet pulled out of Old Continent? Opel and Vauxhall dealers?
As a matter of fact I wasn’t 100% correct myself. I threw Ireland back under English crown (my apologies to all my Irish comrades) and as Mike pointed out below small island countries of Malta and Cyprus in the southern Europe are right hand drive habitats.
Greg,
Since the dealer network has been mostly eradicated, it seems Chevrolet has “partners” in European countries. I know for a fact there a handful in the UK that do sell the Camaro and Corvette. I don’t know what these “partners” also sell, but I assume something else to stay in business. Maybe they are high-end vehicle shops? Because they also seem to service the vehicles, too.
Cheers,
Sean
England, Scotland, Wales, Ireland, Northern Ireland, Cyprus, Malta, Jersey, Guernsey, and the Isle of Man.
That’s right hand drive for Europe.
Nonsense, Italy as well.
Malta and Cyprus have the same right-hand drive habit as the UK ;).
Funny as small as Malta is they have a drag strip and race a lot of American car there.
Inexcusable that GM is not supporting right hand drive versions of Camaro on Alpha!
What is holding up the delivery of my 2SS. Put down substantial deposit, built and ordered. Waiting…..QUESTION THEN IS: WHO tracks these. Can I track on line? It’s been three months. How do I contact the right person ? Anybody?
You can find out how to track your car here:

One offcial Camaro and Corvette dealer in the UK – Ian Allan.
According to the Chevrolet UK website, only the 4 (8 speed auto) and v8 (6 speed manual and 8 speed auto) will be officially exported to Europe – so no V6 Camaro in Europe.
Pity there is no rhd for the UK. Ford has 3000 orders for the rhd Mustang in the UK.
