In a recent Facebook post, Harlan Charles, the Corvette Product Manager, confirmed that the Admiral Blue color option will return for the 2017 Chevrolet Corvette.
As CorvetteBlogger points out, this should come as great news to consumers who were saddened by the removal of Laguna Blue. This should also blast a wave of nostalgia over long-time Corvette enthusiasts, who may recall when Admiral Blue was originally offered on the 1996 Corvette Grand Sport. In fact, if you were to notice the new 2017 Corvette Grand Sport photo teased on Chevrolet’s own website (which we convenient screen-grabbed for you) you would notice a similar paint scheme to that of the ’96 Grand Sport – Admiral Blue with red fender stripes and a white stripe up the center of the hood and roof.
While we’re very big fans of the new blue, we’re just as excited over the Watkins Glen Gray Metallic color option for the 2017 Grand Sport. We’re having a tough time deciphering which option we’d prefer over the other, so we’ll let you decide. Which would you choose, the exclusive Watkins Glen Gray Metallic, or the true to its roots Admiral Blue? Let us know in the comment section below.

I think of ‘grayeige’ as an econobox color!
Admiral Blue by far is my choice! Corvette is America’s Sports Car and Sports cars should stand out from the sea of White, Silver & Black cars on any highway.
Admiral Blue for sure
Both are nice but I would lean toward the grey if I could get it with torch red accents. Don’t much care for the fender hash marks on either but that’s just personal preference. Hopefully there will be a multitude of interior/exterior color ordering options.
Love it. I just wish they would keep it similar to the C4 Grand Sport and run the hash marks only on the driver-side fender. That wouldn’t be too tough to do, I’d imagine – that is, removing the passenger set afterwards.
I think the Blue one is the best looking of the two!
The gray looks sharp and classy but Blue is my favorite color. I’d go with the Blue. Of course if I was rich I’d get one of each plus It’s supercharged brother the Z06. Add a CTS-V and I’d be happy. Of course I can’t afford any of them and will never own one. I have dreamed of owning a Vette since before I could drive but sadly at 45 I now know I will never own one.
Never say never!
Admiral Blue all the way !!!!
Admiral Blue is the way to go.
Blend the old with the new the tried and true. You can’t go wrong with Red,White and Blue.
The blue paint is from the 1963 Mecom race team Gran Sport Corvettes.
i will trade in my 2015 corvette stingray ,for a 2017 blue , anytime. n.k.
Admiral Blue for sure
Just for the record, Admiral Blue was first offered on the 1994 Corvette ZR1
