Last month, ahead of the 2016 Geneva International Motor Show, we were introduced to the new Opel Mokka X. Sporting a significantly-revised front fascia, and an overall tougher, more “masculine” appearance, the Opel Mokka X foreshadows what we in the U.S. can look forward to from a refreshed 2017 Buick Encore.
Here to talk us through some of the highlights of the fresh new Opel Mokka X’s appearance is Opel Vice President of Design Mark Adams, featured in the above video.
Mr. Adams says that the new look is meant to “emphasize a more aspirational and sporty small SUV.” Aiding the Opel Mokka X in that task is an attention-grabbing set of “double-wing” LED headlamps, and a more sculpted front fascia with less cheap-looking exposed plastic – especially around the new foglamps. Mr. Adams doesn’t touch on the rear of the CUV, but that’s because it’s largely unchanged from the outgoing Mokka, save for a set of “double-wing” LED taillights to match those at the front.
The new Opel Mokka X is due in showrooms across Europe this fall. Before then, it looks like the US is set to meet the refreshed Buick Encore at the NY show, incorporating all the same design changes. Stay tuned.

I like what they have done with this little compact . The front end does give it a more modern look , just add the tri-shield to it and Buick will be able to sell everyone of them . This is a mild refresh that was done right .
