Opel Astra Loses Control, Crashes Into Porsche Dealership: Accident Watch

In recent news, the driver of an Opel Astra hatch lost control of his vehicle and crashed into a Porsche dealership in Germany, causing over €120,000 in damages, which would be about $135,000 here in the States. That’s pretty wild when you consider the cost of an Astra hatch, which is a mere fraction of the property damage, hopefully this driver had insurance.

Fortunately no one was seriously injured, though the driver was taken to the hospital with symptoms of ‘severe shock.’ Eye witnesses told authorities that the Astra drifted into oncoming traffic, and without braking it hit a lamppost and property wall before smashing through the glass of the Ferdinand-Porsche-Straße showroom.

A Porsche 911 GT2 took the grunt of the impact. Hopefully it wasn’t waiting to be picked up by an eager and excited customer.
