Comparing Interior Dimensions Of The 2017 Cadillac XT5 To Second-Gen SRX: Dimensional Brief

As it turns out, the new 2017 Cadillac XT5 is more spacious than its 2010-2016 Cadillac SRX predecessor, despite having roughly the same exterior proportions.

Thanks to more efficient use of the XT5’s interior space compared to the not-so-space-efficient SRX, five interior measurements are up, three are down, and another four are the same:

  1. In your “Up” column, you only list 4 when you said it was 5 interior measurements that was up, unless I’m seriously miscounting…. 😉

    1. Oh. The trunk volume increases, of which there are 2, are listed on the same line.

  2. Guys,
Rear shoulder room for 10-16 SRX should read 56.3″ 😉

    1. It does now. It was correct in metric, but not in imperial. Thanks!

  3. We will see similar improvements in packaging in the other SUV and CUV models. GM has put a new focus on this with the new platform.

The last platform was really old and was not the best designed for weight and packaging. Both of these will be corrected.

  4. You should also do a dimensions comparison with the XT5/SRX and the Terrain/Equinox. I know my wife and I are going to move into one this fall from our Terrain, and it is nice to know that the interior dimensions are similar if not the same. She doesn’t want to move up to the new Acadia, which is too bad lol.

  5. Hi, I think the new version of SRX has missed the mark. You had a great looking SRX I have one now this new one I wouldn’t be interested… Look out for sales to drop. You know what they say don’t change what works…
Well we will see what happens…Rich McDowell..

  6. I see you list the front headroom as 39.7. All other sites seem to list it as 38.4.
Is the difference with or without sunroof? Every model but the base seems to come with sunroof.
It can or cannot be deleted?

I usually look for at least 40 inches of headroom. 39.7 might work.

    Thank you,

  7. I have a bar 73” long, 43” wide and 48” tall. Will it fit in the back of the XT5 with the passenger seats down?
