Normally, when life hands you lemons, you make lemonade. But, when life hands you a lemon of a vehicle, you’re stuck with immense problems, and no lemonade.
AutoGuide has compiled recent data from its forums to put together eight vehicles with the most mentions as being lemons. Unfortunately, three of the eight vehicles come from General Motors, per the data.
At the bottom of the list is the Chevrolet Cruze, which received four mentions of being a lemon. The GMC Acadia and Chevrolet Silverado go on to tie for seventh place with the Dodge Challenger, all three receiving five mentions of leaving sour tastes on consumers’ palettes.
Special mention is Cadillac, which does not land on the list, but does report a higher than average number of lemons. Its absence can be attributed to lower sales volumes in comparison with big sellers like the Chevrolet Silverado and Cruze.
Topping the list is the Jeep Cherokee with a much higher 12 mentions of the particular crossover being a lemon. Ford too is represented, with the Escape and Focus placing for six lemon mentions.
You can see the entire lemon list, and data, at the link above.

Ah, right, because AutoGuide.com is the new MotorTrend, Car & Driver, or Automobile mag.
Just one persons opinion… the person who wrote the article! I usually compare 4 to 6 different car reviews to combine points of view, etc., then I feel comfortable about knowing more of a car; wether to purchase or just for the sake of wanting to know more about the model. One comment from AutoGuide doesn’t worry me… if 6 reports say the same thing, then that’s s different story.
I also do likewise and have become wary of the likes of entities such as AutoGuide and Consumer Aborts(reports) and their biases. Like you say, if they all come to the same consensus then it probably is actually the case.
What a dumb article. So they use software to search their member forum and if it picks up a thread where someone mentions that the car maybe a lemon it gets on their list. Sounds like garbage to me.
Funny a guy at work was just complaining about his Cruze, he had problems since day one 5 years ago. Just traded it for a Malibu.
JD Powers has been at this a lot longer and is more broadly accepted with Buick ranked #2, Cadillac #4, Chevrolet #10, GMC #11 while Ford at #25, Hyundai #26, Dodge #27, Jeep #29 followed by Land Rover and Fiat dead last.
Based on JD Powers, General Motors isn’t bad at all and while there may be 1-2 cars that left the factory bad; overall, GM vehicles are above average.
Funny how they kiss toyota ass when toyota is the most UGLIEST and most recalled automaker on the planet i wonder how toyota didn’t land on the list they pointed at all American auto makers hmmmm toyota is TRASH
My 2017 Sierra is a lemon. It has been in the shop five times for the same issue. GMC should do what is right and fix it or replace. What good the GMC warranty if they can not fix it.
