Global Chevrolet Colorado Facelift Leaked

The current, global Chevrolet Colorado has been on the market since 2012, meaning it’s time for a freshening. The newly refreshed Chevy Colorado has been leaked ahead of a proper debut, as reported by Autocar India.
The current Chevrolet Colorado shares many components with the global Chevrolet Trailblazer, meaning the look depicted here will likely reach the SUV sooner rather than later, too.
The front fascia looks akin to the 2016 Chevrolet Tahoe in our eyes, with rounder, more modern lines up front, and a fresh take on the Chevrolet signature front grille.
It’s likely this refresh will also head Down Unda’ to Holden to breathe new life into the Holden Colorado, which shares many stylistic and mechanical components as the global Chevrolet Colorado.
Much more attractive and modern that the front end of the current Chevrolet Colorado IMO.
Hopefully we see this refresh in under 2 years.
The Colorado will face new competition by then. GM needs to find a way to increase capacity also.
Not going to happen with the 2.8 duramax. I own a 2014 Global Ranger XLT in the Fiji Islands with the 3.2 TDCi (5 cylinder engine) and it puts out 470 lbs of torque versus the duramax’s 369 lbs. I’ve driven the Chevy product as well in Fiji and in no way shape or form can that truck match up as far as towing, chassis strength, and ride. If you live in a country that offers the Ranger it’s a no brainer. The Ford product is far more rugged and was designed to be so being it was developed in the Australian outback. Its sad Ford does not offer it in the homeland.
Now Alan, you have to play fair. You quoted the Nm rating on the Ranger and the Ft Lb on the Colorado. In actuality the Colorado produces more torque 500Nm or 369 ft lbs where the Ranger does 470 Nm or 350 ft lb.
While the Colorado is behind in some categories the Capacities and ratings it is tied with the Ranger (towing and payload) which are towards or at the top of the class. It also has a better departure angle and approach angle off road than the ranger. In reviews the Colorado is more truck like (little louder, less refined and drives more truck like), but I am sure the next full redesign will help it towards the top of the class taking some cues from the US twins. Enjoy your Ranger!
Need to get it lower to the ground.. need two versions if need be.. it is more difficult to get in and out of than the Silverado. The interior needs to be spruced up.. the Colorado interiors are lousy. AND the back seat arrangement needs to be much more versitile.. up or down and get rid of the plastic built in bins.. maybe someone has something they need to put there. Just make it like a downsized Silverado in and out but smaller of course and lower to the ground. it sits much higher than say the 2009 Silverado.
When will Chevy go with a ONE global lineup? There is no need for NA and global variants. I even question the wisdom of mild tweeks like the next Insignia-Regal. This is the only area in which Ford has wised up faster than rivals.
The problem is this is not a one world market. While you can share the base their are different needs and taste in other markets that would put them at a disadvantage in other markets.
The problem is it is not just that simple.
If you really look the other models sold globally many are holding many changes you just don’t see be it cultural, Regional, regulatory or geographical.
They may all look alike but often they are much different. I fight this at work with Honda products as so many use totally different engines from market to market and year to years changes. It is hard to keep up or know what you have unless you know where the car or engine came from.
I prefer the look of the 2016’s front clip . This new refresh looks to much like the old Equinox to me . For a truck it just looks to soft . I’d like to see it look abit more like the new Malibu . That front end has attitude .
That is the wimpiest looking truck I have ever seen.
AND YOU ARE A BULLSHIT!
This model may play well overseas but it is too car like for North America. I would expect that we will never see this one here. People here want their trucks to look like trucks and more often now they car like CUV models to look more truck like. It is a regional thing.
I expect we will see some cosmetic updates as soon as next year or the year after. GM will not let the new truck styling rest too long. We will see more changes to the full size too much sooner than we used to see.
Even though the nose clip looks “car like” to some, the rest is much more truck like than the US version (especially the underpinnings). It rides and drive very truck like over there where the US version is much more car like with lower capacities and better ride and handling. The US wants refinement and luxury, why do you think ever other truck you see is a box checker limited/platinum and the forums are filled with complaints on luxury items and rough ride, handling and MPG’s?
Well the reason they are build like they are is most countries they are sold in have poor roads. It is the only think keeping them together. Most trucks here never leave the road and if they do we have off road packages that will tackle anything.
Here Luxury sells and it make profits. We still sell gutted base trucks here if you want one but few people buy them even in fleets.
The trucks here need to work like a truck, ride like a car and be comfortable as that is what is expected by the consumer. It makes money so what else are they going to build?
It is not like need gutted trucks here to haul 15 people to the village market or to strap on a ISIS machine gun in the bed.
Also in other markets people have little money and the trucks need to be gutted.
Today here there is little to complain about on ride or handling of trucks as they do well for what they are. People here expect what they get and if they don’t that is their issue as you knew you were buying a truck.
The new Denali with the Magnetic ride addresses much.
Looks like a hoax to me. Chevy trucks must have their classic stacked head lights.
This looks like some someone rendered a Chevy Trax fascia on a Colorado.
May be on a different continent but I don’t see this happening in the Americas.
AND YOU ARE A BULLSHIT!
When was the last time hoe often did Chevy had stacked lights?
But it will not come here.
