Daniel Ricciardo Takes The Holden Sandman V8 Supercar For A Run: Video

It doesn’t get much more iconic than the Holden Sandman. The wagon spent plenty of time down by the beach back in the day, and it has since become an Australian motoring classic. Holden never got around to bringing a true modern successor to Sandman, but V8 Supercars got pretty close with their build.

Red Bull Racing put together an ode to the original Sandman with a modern interpretation of the panel wagon, except this one has been outfitted with proper V8 Supercars equipment. That means it is bonkers fast. Daniel Ricciardo, accompanied by Jamie Whincup, decided to stop by the track to take the Triple Eight Sandman out for a walk.

Fully race prepped and ready to roll, Ricciardo absolutely wails the Sandman around the course uttering, “this thing’s got some balls.” Oh, the love of some Australian muscle.

Have a look at the video for yourself right up above.
