Cadillac CTS-V Sets Record For “Supercharger Only” 1/4 Mile: Video

We were all smiles as we watched this Cadillac CTS-V pop a wheelie during its quarter mile sprint – which it completed in about 9.3 seconds at approximately 145 miles per hour. Yep, this thing’s a beast, and it just so happens to be the fifth-fastest CTS-V in the world.

The four other CTS-Vs that post faster times do so with the assistance of nitrous, but this monster is all blower. It’s got a good amount of work in it, though. The owner is relatively new to the V scene, but was able to do some decent work to it. For starters, the stock blower was CNC ported and a smaller 2.38 pulley was fitted to the snout. And that’s just the tip of the iceberg.

The owner told YouTube host BigKleib34 that he built this CTS-V with the same mindset that he had when building his Pontiac G8, “keep it light, make it rev, and make everything flow as good as possible.” That means, in addition to the work on the blower, CNC’d GMPP LS9 heads, a custom 5″ intake, ATI crankshaft dampener with an 8.66 pulley, an Aldo Welds ice tank, and modified stock injectors. For fuel, he ran an interesting blend of 93 pump gas, toluene, and HRC Sunoco gas.

Aside from the power upgrades, there’s also super lightweight 15×10 Weld RTS wheels wrapped in 325/50-15 M/T ET Street R slicks. He also pieced together a Wilwood/SSBC brake setup. The weight was also reduced thanks to bucket seats, and removing the muffler upon arriving at the track.

So, with nothing further, click play and watch this beast of a CTS-V blast off and barrel down the quarter-mile strip like a rocket.

  2. This article made me think about GMC offering the first generation Acadia in 2017 as the Acadia Limited; what if Cadillac had updated the front end of the CTS Coupe to be similar to the CT6 and replaced the LSA with the LT4 then rebaged the CTS-V as the CTS-CL would there be buyers.
