Burt Reynolds ‘Bandit’ Trans Am Doesn’t Care If Pontiac Is Dead: Video

Pontiac is never coming back. As much as we love the brand that used to build excitement, it has joined the likes of Mercury, Oldsmobile, Saturn and more in the automotive graveyard. But, that hasn’t stopped some companies from producing what could be a Pontiac today.
And how much closer can it get than when Burt Reynolds endorses the car? Well, he’s done just that with the Trans Am SE Bandit Edition. Trans Am Depot has crafted the latest Trans Am, which will be limited to 77 units in honor or the original Bandit car’s model year, and the release date of the film.
The Trans Am SE Bandit Edition will come with genuine t-tops, and a General Motors small-block V8 under the hood, tuned to produce a staggering 840 hp. Underneath is a fifth-generation Chevrolet Camaro with all the visual cues to make the car instantly recognizable as a Trans Am with plenty of retro throwback cues including the headlight housings, the rear taillamps and the screaming bird sitting atop the hood.
If this tickles your fancy, Trans Am Depot would love to build you one for $115,000, which includes the cost of the donor Chevrolet Camaro. Remember, Pontiac isn’t coming back, so this is the closest we’ll likely ever get to seeing the red arrowhead grace a muscle car again.

Wife, has been hinting the C7 has to go! Well now bless her heart! I have more sophistication and thinking there is a lot more up shifts into #7 on track time! God bless Corvette and and whoosh 77 waves to say. Thank you, Burt!
Makes you wonder of what it might be like if Pontiac still existed.. as they may even tried to ask General Motors to let them try building a GTO based on the Alpha platform to sell alongside the Firebird. Chevy’s Malibu would be Pontiac’s Grand Am and the Impala being the Bonneville. It’s anyone’s guess on whether Pontiac would get a variant of the Volt; although one would think they would like Cadillac’s ELR as a starting point because it’s different in appearance to the Volt.
I have always loved the TA’s !! I wish they where still made and affordable. My son is turning 14 years old soon. I always wish I could make his dreams come true with a car like this. He is in love with these cars. He has been looking at them since he was 9 years old. He loves all the years of the trans am. Mabey one of these days some one will sell one for the right price. I love the new car style and T-tops.definitely need them!!! I am glad you are keeping the dream alive.
So who is going to be producing the firebird?
