2017 Cadillac CT6 Priced At $63,000 For Middle Eastern Market

The 2016 Cadillac CT6 has launched in China and shipments are moving out to dealers in the U.S. as you read this. Next up is the middle east, and Cadillac has officially priced the Touring Six sedan for the market at $63,000 USD.

The Cadillac CT6, which will arrive for the 2017 model year in the middle east, will sit atop the Cadillac portfolio as a new range-topper in the region, and is expected to help the brand grow tremendously over the next few years, with aggressive pricing to grow its market share.

$63,000 will allow buyers to step into the 2017 CT6, powered by the the 3.6-liter V6, Luxury trim with all-wheel drive, but ponying up $78,000 nets the 3.0-liter twin-turbo V6 Platinum model with all-wheel drive. Both are shifted via an eight-speed automatic.

“The CT6 is Cadillac’s take on the prestige sedan, combining space and luxury with agile driving dynamics,” said Felix Weller, Managing Director of Cadillac Middle East. “Our pricing strategy furthers our competitive edge, and reflects the CT6’s comprehensive package that offers the style, performance and technological advances customers in this segment appreciate and expect from Cadillac.” Weller added.

As for features, the middle east will also receive the same creature comforts as the United States, which includes the Bose Panaray sound system, Rear Camera Mirror and night vision technology.

The 2017 Cadillac CT6 will arrive alongside the 2017 Cadillac XT5 to round out a freshened portfolio of vehicles.

  1. It seems that GM/Cadillac cares MORE about increasing sales in foreign countries than it does in the US. Sales in the US are stagnant. The ATS/CTS/XTS/ and ELR are not selling, and below last years figures. The cars are NOT advertised, even the much anticipated CT6 has only one ad on tv and it says nothing about the car.

Dealers are reluctant to carry an ATS, or CTS inventory since the cars don’t sell. To make matters worse, with the front end refresh coming in June to the ATS, and CTS, this will all but kill sales of the 2016 ATS, and CTS cars on dealer lots currently.

I was in the market for a 2016 CTS VSport in December, but not one of the four dealerships in the D.C. Metro area had one in stock. I was told dealers are reluctant to carry a $70,000+ vehicle in inventory that is a slow seller. Yet each one of those dealers had more than a dozen Escalades ($80,000+) in stock.

GM/Cadillac should try to raise sales of Cadillac in the US by 20%. Cadillac needs to begin immediately to aggressively market their product. If they don’t, the CT6 and XT5 will sit on dealer lots also. Then what?

    1. Maybe the dealerships not competent enough to sell a $70K+ car the blame?

Sales are low but the ATS is successful for bringing in 60% of new buyers to Cadillac while close to a half are younger buyers, the CTS is doing fine in sales which is even with Audi A6 and Lexus GS and the XTS is selling well for a full size FWD luxury sedan. And for the XTS-to a lot of enthusiast, that is a big NO NO for a big luxury car to be FWD but it is the only successful FWD car that can sell in volume while other FWD luxury cars fail to sale in volume like Volvo S80, Lincoln MKS and Acura RLX for example.

So therefore, sales are doing fine, not the greatest, but fine for what Cadillac can do for the changing market for consumer’s increasing interests in SUVs.

And like I said before, I blame the dealership lacking confidence in selling a $70K car. If the dealership don’t know how to sell a $70K+ car to anyone, seek new training or obtain new management that knows how to sale high end products and be creative in your tact of sales. There is no reason why they can’t have a few $70K+ cars on lots in spite of smaller buyer volume to maintain potential customer satisfaction and business.

  2. The article is just about pricing for a model in a region that will sell it. Cadillac is not doing anything special in the Middle East market and not impacting US sales. Furthermore Cadillac is positioning itself as a global brand so all regions matter.

Also ATS/CTS/XTS sales are stagnant and regressing for the most part however inventory levels have evened out and changes are on the way.

What makes you think that Cadillac is not eager to raise interest and sales for the sedans?
Bear in mind that all sedan segments are taking a hit right now due to low gas prices and more so the move to crossovers.
That is where Cadillac is hurting the most. It has only 1 crossover to do battle with the other luxury makers such as Mercedes, BMW and Audi which has as many as 5 to chose from.

Every indication is that the XT5 in particular will do well in its segment. The CT6 also has enough to do well.

By the end of the year Cadillac will have a significant year over year sales increase in NA.

  3. I’m a bit surprise that the CT6 Platinum 3.0T will start at $78K over there. Makes me wonder how many Collection or lack thereof have for them?

    1. Styling is not the major factor in this segment as it is on the lower end of the luxury segment.
The downside of this vehicle may well be the driving dynamics. I think it leans to much towards sporty driving while the large luxury sedan is more about comfort and technology.
BMW is learning this and is in the process of revamping their line up.
