2010 Holden VE Commodore Ute Is Street Legal And Looking For A Home: eBay Find

The U.S. was so, so close to being graced with its own ute. Many remember the tease that was the Pontiac G8 ST, literally a Holden VE Commodore ute with a Pontiac fascia painted on for good measure. The ute was to expand upon the G8 sedan, and eventually house the Sportwagon and likely a coupe.

But, let’s not get carried away with nostalgia (because it hurts our hearts) and let’s focus on what we have here today. KAO Autostyling in Las Vegas, Nevada has posted this entirely street-legal 2010 Holden VE Commodore ute to eBay. No strings, no questions asked. Yes, that kind of legal.

As the story goes, an Australian television show documented the process of importing the 2010 Commodore ute into the United States, and then completely converted it to left-hand drive to the tune of $30,000 USD. The ute is currently sitting at $48,000.

The work was completed by KAO, which also lowered the ute and slapped a set of Clack 22-inch wheels on. KAO also installed a painted-to-match bed cover, and worked a little magic on the interior cabin as well.

Thankfully, this 2010 Commodore ute is equipped with the 6.0-liter L76 V8 engine, but, unfortunately, it’s an automatic. However, this may be one of the easier way to get your hands on some forbidden, Australian fruit.

  1. Pure badass. A real world exotic that’s looking like it’s going to sell for a reasonable price.

  2. You should buy that Sean, nothing like some winding Australian or American country roads in the wet with a V8 tail happy ute, so much sideways action you will need stitches from smiling so hard 🙂

  3. GM should bring it to the U.S. and offer the legal, left-hand driver model for sale as “El Camino”. The Colorado is too big as a pickup, and many would love a new version of the UTE. The eBay sale went up to $48,600. GM can stll offer it for $35,000.
