Used Car Salesman Killed During C6 Corvette Test Drive

Sad news out of Ontario, California, after a used car salesman at a local CarMax dealership was killed during a test drive, according to local news affiliate KTLA.

28-year-old Alex Demetro was piloting the C6 Corvette with the 43-year-old salesman in the passenger seat when Demetro lost control of the car at a very high rate of speed. The Corvette struck a light pole before crashing into a tree.

Demetro was pulled from the vehicle with minor injuries, and immediately given a field sobriety test. Police have charged the man with driving under the influence of drugs, and vehicular manslaughter. The salesman was rushed to the hospital with critical injuries, and was pronounced dead shortly after.

Police stated the Corvette was likely traveling at speeds around 70 mph when the driver lost control of the vehicle.

CarMax salespeople are always told to use judgement before agreeing to a test drive, and coworkers stated the 43-year-old salesman likely felt there was no reason to be suspicious of Demetro.
