Lingenfelter Performance Engineering continues to enhance the performance of GM’s latest work, including this 2016 Chevrolet Camaro SS equipped with the automatic eight-speed 8L90 transmission.
From the factory the Camaro SS puts out 455 horsepower and 455 pound-feet of torque, courtesy of the LT1 V8. After installation of the Magnuson TVS2300 Heartbeat Supercharger, however, those numbers jump to 630 horsepower and 600 pound-feet of torque. This is similar to the amount of power made by the LT4, in fact, it’s the same amount of horsepower as the 2016 Cadillac CTS-V.
This makes things interesting, as the 2017 Camaro ZL1 is expected to be powered by the LT4. So we’re wondering how much better the ZL1 Camaro will (should) be than a Camaro SS with the 1LE package and this Magnuson Supercharger.
What say you? Go with the factory goodies, or go with Lingenfelter? Hopefully the EPA’s recent statement won’t discourage those who prefer the aftermarket.
