Here Are Two Things About Chevy Trax Customers You Might Not Have Known

Since launching in the United States, the Chevrolet Trax has become somewhat of sales success. In 2015, its first full year on the market, the Trax accounted for 63,030 sales, becoming the second best-selling small crossover in America. But the Trax is about more than posting healthy sales numbers.

Conquest Champion

Chevy tells us that over half of Trax customers in the U.S. with a trade-in turned in a something other than a Chevrolet. That makes the Trax a conquest champion, thereby allowing the Bowtie brand to grow sales and market share at the expense of rivals.

The recently-announced update for the 2017 model year Trax should ensure that doesn’t take a turn for the worse.

Very Popular Among Women

In addition, nearly 60 percent of Trax buyers are female, which is the highest percentage in the entire Chevrolet lineup.

  1. I bought a 2015 LTZ Trax about 4 months ago. My wife & I love it. The Trax averages 29 miles per gallon. We traded in a 2008 Equinox Sport for it I miss the power of the Equinox but love the gas milage of the Trax. If you are considering a car in this class, I strongly recommend you buy a Trax

    1. Plus, you gotta love the handling and technology. Only thing I wish they did was fix the silly armrest.

  2. What % of the trade in’s are GM products?

    1. That number isn’t being disclosed. However, given that the amount of customers who “return” to Chevrolet from Buick/GMC or Cadillac is minuscule, I’d say that the number is quite low.

  3. This is reason why Chevy will be introducing a refreshed Trax so quickly.. as to come out of no where and become the 2nd best selling CUV says a lot. Publications talked about the anemic performance of the Trax; but consumers realize they didn’t need speed as they just wanted something that looked good, affordable, fuel efficient and capable of carrying groceries for a family.

    1. The reason its being refreshed is because it’s been on sale elsewhere in the world since 2013. It’s due for a refresh.

    1. Oh yeah. This article fails to mention buyers could get a kick back for trading in a non-GM car. A Conquest Bonus or whatever it was called. I was happy to get it, mind you.

  5. Two things that keep me from seriously considering it are the interior, still no console/ armrest or decent infotainment upgrades.

  6. Great front facada. It looks modern, sly and aggressive.
