The 2017 GMC Acadia will be offered in eight exterior colors, according to the recently-published order guide for the vehicle. To whit, these include:
- Crimson Red Tintcoat (G1E) (extra charge; not available on SL/1SV TNH26 FWD model)
- Dark Sapphire Blue Metallic (G1M) (extra charge; not available on SL/1SV TNH26 FWD model or Denali)
- White Frost Tricoat (G1W) (extra charge; not available on SL/1SV TNH26 FWD model)
- Quicksilver Metallic (GAN) (extra charge; not available on SL/1SV TNH26 FWD model)
- Ebony Twilight Metallic (GB8) (extra charge; available with SL/1SV TNH26 FWD model and not available on All Terrain or Denali)
- Sparkling Silver Metallic (GWT) (extra charge; available with SL/1SV TNH26 FWD model and not available with with All Terrain or Denali models)
- Iridium Metallic (GXG) (extra charge; not available on SL/1SV TNH26 FWD model)
- Summer White (GAZ) (available with SL/1SV and not available on All Terrain or Denali models)
All colors are extra-charge options with the exception of Summit White. In addition, most of the extra-cost colors are not available on the base SL (1SV) model, and some aren’t available on the Acadia Denali.
To note, the first six colors are identical to six of the hues offered on the 2017 Cadillac XT5, which rides on the same C1XX platform as the new Acadia while also being built on the same line at GM’s Spring Hill plant in Tennessee.

Wow. One color N/C.
Should be at least four — white/silver/black/(red or blue)
Four extra cost
Two premium Denali only colors
Hey, you noticed also. A charge for paint is just like baggage fees on airline. EXTRA!
To help keep the base prices low for 2018, only the driver’s seat will be included in the price. Extra seats will be an additional cost.
This wheel and tire is representative only. If you want three more, they are extra.
GM really needs some new colors. At least something unique per model or brand that is eye catching. Maybe that sparkling silver will look better in person.
Wow–looks like a Durango with Pontiac body cladding.
The overall effect isn’t bad but Ruess forgot the 2012 “who shrunk my Malibu” lesson.
When a vehicle shrinks a new name ought to be selected.
With two exceptions:
1. Unless the actual market sweet spot is where this new Acadia is, or
2. Unless there is an Acadia XL in the plans that we don’t know about
With the exception of Summit White they are the same colors (with different names) that are available on the 2017 XT5.
If only Summit White was offered on the XT5.
No reason why Summit White shouldn’t be offered on the XT5. Also, I noticed that the silver that is included in the base price of the XT5 is not included here, indicating that it’s not really premium at all.
GM’s color palate and pricing make little sense from the consumer’s perspective.
There should be at least four N/C colors across all models — white, black, silver, blue — and then various premium colors — premium reds for example which customers seem to have no problem — and maybe even or two model specific colors (i.e., Denali or All Terrain).
There could be at least one Special Edition color each year too.
For some reason, the importance of color in the purchase decision seems to be downplayed in the choices available.
It seems the 2016 and 2017 Ford Explorer have the same colors at no charge for color options, better electronic to include power 3rd row seatings, with a lower price tags. I think I will stick with what has won more awards of excellence five years running. Two fusion three explorers, they must be doing something right to keep me coming back. Aka Batman Thomas
