Didarul Sarder has become a local hero after his actions saved a woman’s life outside of the General Motors Warren Tech Center.
Sarder has been credited with breaking up what could have been a fatal attack involving a 32-year old daughter attempting to stab and kill her 52-year old mother, a Warren Tech Center employee.
The Detroit Free Press has posted the surveillance footage of the attack via Warren Police, which shows Sarder jump into action after valets attempt to stop the stabbing.
“It was just something to react and it was the right thing to do, I felt,” Sarder said while being honored by Warren Mayor Jim Fouts. “If I had to do it over, I’d do it all over again.”
Sarder was originally suspended for carrying his licensed pistol on the job, but has since been reinstated. Sarder said he has never unholstered his weapon before that day.
Around the 1:00 mark, you can see the two women get into an altercation outside the revolving doors on the viewer’s right. As people run inside, the valets begin to rush out, and you can see Sarder pull his weapon around the 1:20 mark, affectively stopping the fight.
Sarder admits to yelling a vulgarity of sorts before telling the woman to drop the knife and threatening to fire. The 32-year old woman has since been charged with the attempted murder for the stabbing.

I go through that entrance fairly regularly. Thank goodness that driver was there or that woman would be dead. I hate to say it but those security officers look like the Keystone Cops just trying to get out the door and running around in circles.
