Chevrolet Beat Activ Is Ready To Soft-Road Its Way Across India

The Chevrolet Beat Activ concept may look cutesy, but rest assured, the concept means business. Chevrolet made that clear at the debut of the Beat Activ concept at the New Delhi Auto Expo, which also saw the introduction of the Chevrolet Essentia sedan.
The Chevrolet Beat Activ builds upon the already enormously popular Beat, and ups its off-road credentials in the slightest. Chevrolet calls it a “soft-roader” ready to tackle adventure across the Indian landscape. The more aggressive stance is meant to court the maturing Indian buyer, and exude a more youthful appearance of the brand.
“The Essentia and Beat Activ were created in direct response to the growing Indian market and signal Chevrolet’s commitment to the maturing Indian A-segment market. Both evolutions of the proven Beat platform, these two important vehicles give us the opportunity to speak to a wider audience. They clearly demonstrate we are listening to our customers and are being led by their need for small cars with more content and more choice. We are confident it is cars like these that will increase our presence on Indian roads,” Kasher Kazem, President and Managing Director, GM India said.
Although the Beat Activ was a South Korean design project, its lead designer, Indian-born Harish Kumar, began the project in India before it moved to the Korean design center. The concept of the Beat Activ was to create something appealing to Indian consumers, while retaining a progressive, and distinctly Chevrolet, design language.
Chevrolet states the Beat Active is merely a concept, therefore has left technical and mechanical specs out, for now. Expect the Beat Activ to most certainly reach production soon.
Nice!! It’s good looking, sexy and impulse driven. The Beat-Activ should sell well in all global markets.
