If we raced bumper-to-bumper at 200 mph every Sunday, we’re not sure where we’d find our thrills. For a lot of people driving a fast go-kart or even giving their car a good dose of throttle is enough to get the adrenaline pumping, but when your racing nearly every week, everything but driving your racecar probably feels a bit mild.
One way you could get racing driver’s heart beating a bit faster would be to send him up in a jet with a skilled pilot at the helm. NASCAR’s Chase Elliott recently did just that, going up with the United States Air Force’s Thunderbirds for a wild ride above Daytona International Speedway.
Not even this appears to have phased Elliott, however, as he remained pretty calm through the ride judging by his radio transmissions. Check it out in the video above and be sure to tune into this Sunday’s Daytona 500 as Elliott starts from pole position on the No. 24 Chevrolet SS.
