With the 2016Â Buick Cascada soft-top convertible, you can go from a quiet coupe to a stylish convertible in just 17 seconds with the pull of a lever.
Buick says that the mechanism is proven to function properly at speeds of up to 31 miles per hour. In any case, it’s a much better method than that of the Pontiac Solstice or Saturn Sky, GM’s prior convertible coupes. For those cars you would have had to pull over and manually drop or pop the top – so we’ll call this a step in the right direction.
Speaking of Buicks and convertibles, we wonder how quickly the mechanism of a Buick Avista convertible would function. But since a production Avista is unlikely, we can only dare to dream.
