When it came time for the staff of Motor Authority to decide which car earned the Best Car To Buy for 2016, they had a pretty difficult decision to make. The competition was fierce, and included the 2016 Cadillac ATS-V and CTS-V, Mercedes-AMG GT S, all-new Mazda MX-5 Miata, and Lamborghini Aventador SV. Ultimately, the choice came down to two cars, the 2016 Chevrolet Camaro SS, and the 2016 Ford Mustang GT350.
In the end, GM’s latest performance car was able to come away with the title. The LT1 and Alpha platform combo was just too good for the jury to ignore, but can you blame them? With 455 horsepower and 455 pound-feet of torque, it’s the most powerful Camaro SS ever produced from the factory. But it’s not just the power, as the ride and handling of the 2016 Camaro moves well above its price point.
We’d have to agree with Motor Authority on a few other points as well; like the updated interior being a major plus when compared to the previous Camaro. The other big highlight is the pricing of the 2016 Camaro. When you look at the technology and performance it offers, and compare it to other similarly priced vehicles, the Camaro still manages to provide a sense of value.
