Opel Zafira Tourer Named The Auto Test “Winner In Green” For Fourth Consecutive Year

For the fourth consecutive year the Opel Zafira Tourer has been named the “Auto Test Winner in Green” in its segment by the environmental institute Ökotrendand and the trade magazine Auto Test for its 1.6 CNG (Compressed Natural Gas) ecoFLEX powertrain.

Thanks to the environmentally friendly engine from Opel, the compact seven-seater sips just 4.7 kilograms (10.36 lbs) of high-grade natural gas per 100 kilometers (62 miles), while emitting only 129 g/km CO2,which earns it the German A energy efficiency label.

The innovative Opel CNG ecoFLEX engines are designed to run on natural gas, biogas, or any combination of the two, as well as gasoline. In Germany, the government has introduced a tax benefit regulation for the use of natural gas as a fuel because natural gas vehicles emit up to 25 percent less CO2, up to 80 percent less nitrogen and are free of benzol and soot particles. This should make the Zafira Tourer very appealing to car shoppers who need the extra space.
