It has been three years since the initial launch of the Opel Mokka subcompact crossover. Since then, it has given Opel a jumpstart on the booming segment, while other automakers rush to catch up. No where is that more apparent than in sheer number of orders Opel has received for the little Mokka.
Since launch, Opel states the Mokka has tallied up 500,000 orders.
“People looking for a robust, compact SUV with a high level of functionality and best quality at affordable prices drive Opel Mokka,” said Peter Christian Küspert, Vice President Sales & Aftersales Opel Group. “The customers love the offer proposed by our popular SUV. Therefore, it leads registrations in its class regularly. Under consideration of a longer time period, the Mokka is an undisputed member of the top three registered SUVs.” Across Europe, the Mokka registered a sales increase of 16 percent in 2015.
Opel is quick to point out just why the Mokka has found so many homes, and part of the formula is certainly Opel OnStar, bountiful cargo room and a small exterior footprint with compact design.
Sales should stay strong until a mild refresh debuts before an all-new Mokka arrives in the near future.
