The 2015 Chevrolet Colorado Z71 navigates comfortably even with a fully loaded bed, according to the most recent Motor Trend long-term update for the Chevrolet pickup.
After being relocated to Los Angeles from Detroit, the Colorado Z71 is used to haul surf gear to the packed beaches of California. The Bed Bug bedliner protects the equipment from scratches and other marring, and the the tailgate pad allows for the safe transportation of a 10-foot longboard and 8-foot surfboard. Sure, a bigger truck would make things even easier, but editor-in-chief Edward Loh expresses his appreciation of the Colorado’s relatively compact dimensions in the dense city streets of LA.
While the 3.6L LFX V6Â offers plenty of giddy-up with decent mileage for a pickup, Loh says he prefers the more efficient 2.8L Duramax diesel available for the 2016 Colorado; the difference being around 10 miles per gallon on the highway.
Another feature from the 2015Â Colorado that was missed is Apple CarPlay;Â the affordance of “texting and Spotifying” was not taken for granted by Loh. That said, they could always trade their truck or car in on any 2016 model year Chevrolet model, as every vehicle will be equipped with CarPlay.
