Before the 2017 Chevrolet Bolt EV makes is official debut at the 2016 Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas this Wednesday, a small piece of information has confirmed what General Motors has hinted at all along.
According to Hybrid Cars, a promotional email has been sent to those interested in further updates on the 2017 Bolt EV and includes one sentence to seal the deal for 2016 availability: “The all-electric 2017 Chevrolet Bolt EV will be available late 2016.”
Previously, GM and Chevrolet had only hinted at a 2016 availability date for the purely-electric plug in vehicle, which is expected to house a more than 200-mile range on a single charge, and cost under $30,000 after federal tax credits.
The 2017 Bolt EV will debut during GM CEO Mary Barra’s keynote speech at the 2016 CES, and the Bolt will receive a followup debut at the 2016 North American International Auto Show next week.

The Bolt has gone from concept to reality very quickly. I hope this quick turn around is an indication of how GM will treat concepts in the future.
Do you remember when GM showed off the Bolt concept for the first time to the public? It was in Detroit last year, wasn’t it?
I hope GM makes the BOLT available nation-wide and not just a limited market the way they did initially with the Volt and the Spark EV.
