Corvette ZR1-Powered Destino Heading To Production

Remember when former General Motors executive Bob Lutz wanted to use the Fisker Karma for an all-out sports car with a C6 Corvette ZR1 engine? It’s happening.

Motor Trend reports not only is it happening, but Henrik Fisker himself has officially come on board to the make the car a reality. Along with Fisker and Lutz, Gilbert Villarreal has come aboard to create the newly formed VLF Automotive will debut the vehicle at the 2016 North American International Auto Show.

The VLF Destino will arrive with a 6.2-liter LS9 supercharged V8 with 638 hp and 604 lb-ft of torque. The automaker says prices will begin at $229,000.

Even though the original Fisker Karma never caught on quite like Tesla did, to some, the VLF Destino will be an even better usage of the handsome looking design. And we’re okay with the LS9 engine finding a home in another application.
