Chevrolet earned four trophies (not really) for the 2016 “Most Popular on Edmunds.com” Awards. The four vehicles to make the cut were the Corvette for most popular Midrange Sports Car, Impala for Large Car, Tahoe for Large Traditional SUV, and Traverse for Large Crossover SUV.
The awards recognize one vehicle from 20 different segments, ranging from Most Popular Crossover Compact SUV to Most Popular Subcompact Car. Awards went to the new models in each segment with the highest total car-shopper consideration from January 2015 through November 16, 2015. The criteria is based on the number of monthly unique visitors to the new-car research and inventory pages for that model on Edmunds.com’s desktop site. Aside from Chevrolet, Ford and Honda were the only manufacturers to receive multiple awards.
“What makes these awards truly unusual is that they’re decided by a comprehensive audience of millions of car shoppers on Edmunds.com,” says Edmunds.com CEO Avi Steinlauf. “Because these accolades are determined by shoppers – and shoppers only – it’s a testament to just how well the winning automakers’ product and marketing efforts have resonated with the public.”
