2016 Chevy Camaro A Runner-Up For Detroit Free Press Car Of The Year

It’s fair to say General Motors and, specifically, Chevrolet had a very good 2015. As we begin 2016, Chevrolet was bestowed yet another award.

The 2016 Chevrolet Malibu was awarded The Detroit Free Press Car Of The Year title, and was noted as a return to midsize car greatness after a generation of ho-hum legroom and a half-baked package.

But, another bowtie-branded vehicle was close to clinching the award, too. The 2016 Chevrolet Camaro was heralded as a jack-of-all-trades sports coupe with innovative new features, excellent engine offerings and a sublime chassis thanks to the Alpha platform.

Following closely behind the 2016 Malibu, and beating out the 2016 Camaro, however, was the all-new 2016 Honda Civic. But, in the end, the 2016 Malibu did a little bit more to impress the judges over the Civic.

But, hey, two-out-of-three ain’t bad.

  1. Another award for Camaro ! GM has big plans for Camaro , the Grand River Assembly Plant in Lansing , Mi. will add a third shift to keep up with the anticipated demand for this car while still building the ATS and CTS . It’s nice to have the Camaro being built in America again . It’s a win win for everybody .
