In a nutshell, Chevrolet will air a television ad that showcases the benefits of OnStar 4G LTE. It wants everyone to know that it has sold more than 1.4 million vehicles with 4G LTE connectivity since June of 2014, with more than 500,000 units being the Silverado, Silverado HD, and Colorado trucks combined. And the latest ad aims to highlight this tech feature.
The title of the commercial is “Mobile Office,” and it comes as a continuation of the “Real People, Not Actors” campaign, offering customers a choice between a) a Silverado with OnStar 4G LTE or b) a competitive vehicle (read: Ford) without 4G LTE. The full spot runs just under two minutes, but we’re sure to see a whittled-down 30-second version.
“The spot illustrates just one aspect of the connectivity Chevrolet offers our owners,” said Paul Edwards, U.S. vice president of Chevrolet Marketing. “Based on usage rates for features such as OnStar, 4G LTE, and RemoteLink, Chevrolet’s technologies deliver real-world benefits for our customers – and are a competitive advantage for our brand.”
What’s great is that the OnStar 4G LTE technology is just one on several technologies available in Chevrolet’s lineup. Other innovations found in the lineup include: Teen Driver in the 2016 Malibu, a built-in system that lets parents monitor how their teenager/s drive the vehicle, Valet Mode, which allows Corvette owners and other vehicles with the PDR system to lock the interior storage, disable the infotainment system, and the Performance Data Recorder itself, which records video and vehicle data when the system is active.
The ad aired during the evening of New Years Eve.
