Roadkill, the video series that has utterly swept the the internet for car enthusiasts and gearheads alike. It’s a place to take solace while the Top Gear UK boys figure out their latest Amazon Prime streaming-on-demand debut.
Anyway, on the latest episode, we simply had to bring it here for you all. Why? Because the Roadkill boys have stepped into a 1974 Mazda mini-truck. Yes, once upon a time it was powered by a coveted rotary powerplant but, the reason it has landed here, is because of what the owner swapped into it.
Powering the 1974 Mazda is a 455 cubic-inch Oldsmobile V8. In the rear, we might add. The entire truck has also been converted to front-wheel drive via an Oldsmobile Toronado. This could very well be the greatest Frankenstein build ever.
The goal? Fix the old thing up and take it to the Optima Street Car Challenge. The issues? That event is a road race, not a drag racing event. So, our hosts will have some tinkering to do.
