General Motors is recalling the Chevrolet Beat Diesel in India over an issue with the clutch pedal lever. The Chevrolet Beat is sold as the Chevrolet Spark in other markets around the world.
The defect: in affected vehicles, the clutch pedal lever is susceptible to cracking with continued usage.
Affected vehicles: Chevrolet Beat Diesel manufactured between December 2010 and July 2014.
Number of vehicles affected: 101,597.
The fix: GM has started voluntarily notifying owners of the Beat Diesel to take their cars to any of Chevrolet’s 248 authorized service centers across India. Dealers will inspect and if necessary, replace the clutch pedal lever. Affected vehicles will be repaired free of charge at Chevrolet’s authorized service centers across the country.
