General Motors and Chevrolet have taken a moment to recognize a milestone with the Fort Wayne, Indiana assembly plant. Today, the seven-millionth truck rolled off the assembly line, with the customer on hand to help with the build process.
The truck, a 2016 Chevrolet Silverado double-cab, was ordered by Lee Adams, owner of Tri-State Compressed Air in Goshen, Indiana. Adams has ordered over 50 Chevrolet vans and trucks for his business since 1982, and this particular 2016 Silverado will serve the same duty the other vehicles have for his sales force.
The milestone follows the news of a $1.2 billion investment by GM into the Fort Wayne assembly for the next generation of Chevy and GMC full-size pickup trucks, likely with extensive use of aluminum.

My ’03 Silverado was built there, a very nice truck. Too bad the crew cabs aren’t built there.
