Chevrolet Ute Force Supports Gauteng’s Annual Toy Run Motorcycle Ride

Every year in Gauteng, a province in South Africa, a diverse group of bikers throughout the area meet up at the Benoni Sports ground to collect as many toys, toiletries, and stationary as possible for underprivileged children in a Toy Run.

And for the second year in a row, the Chevrolet Ute Force has lent its support by providing the Chevrolet Utility for the group to use.The Chevrolet Utilities were used to transport materials used in preparation of the event including fencing, signs, gazebos, and banners.

“Ideal for the job, the Chevrolet Utilities are fuel efficient, reliable and carry a surprising amount of cargo,” said Tim Hendon, Chevrolet Brand Manager.

The GM Authority Take

Stereo-typically speaking, working hand in hand with Chevrolet and Toy Run to gather toys for tots isn’t the first thing that comes to mind when I think of a “group of bikers,” but then again I guess that’s why it’s called a “stereotype.”

We applaud Chevrolet, Toy Run, and the bikers for their efforts. Though it’s not the first time we’ve seen a Chevrolet Utility used for the benefit of the kids.

  1. This is a vehicle that is needed and will sell well in the U.S. to pair with the larger Colorado. And old “El Camino” fans will go for it, too. Bring it to the U.S. for 2016!!

  2. Wish we had this little truck for sale in the United States. Was glad to see the Chevy Cruze being made available in a 5-door Wagon … we will own one ! Hey GM … bring the little truck into the states. By chance is it the same one called the Tornado in Mexco? We have a hobby farm, am up in years and just don’t need a large/mid sized truck. A 4′ x 7′ trailer does all our hauling, about 1,100 pounds is the heaviest load pulled. You build/bring it … we WILL buy it !

    1. You’re not alone, quite a few folks have expressed interest in the Utility. To answer your question, yes, it is the same truck as the Chevrolet Tornado (Mexico) and Chevrolet Montana (other markets).
