Now, all that’s left is for Buick to announce Envision pricing, release the Envision order guide, and tell us whether or not it will ever be built in North America.
Legend:

So, what I really want to know is why GM is labeling this a 2016 model if it doesn’t go on sale until next summer around the same time as the 2017 Lacrosse?
it also appears that they have taken away the red white and blue emblem of the Chinese spec model, something US market Buicks are supposed to be returning to.
“So, what I really want to know is why GM is labeling this a 2016 model if it doesn’t go on sale until next summer around the same time as the 2017 Lacrosse?”
Because we are presently in the 2016 model year. Model years are about 3 months ahead of the calendar year. It’s also not just GM doing this, the industry is.
That’s my point, the 2016 model year is already here, and has been for months. It can be labeled as a 2017 model if it goes on sale after January 1, 2016, which is a little less than a month away. This vehicle does not go on sale until next summer according to buick.com. By that time, the 2016 model year production will be largely wrapped up, and everyone else will be switching over to 2017 models.
Well, by the time this goes on sale, there will be no 2017 model year vehicles. Those tend to arrive in the summer of a particular year, and the Envision should arrive beforehand.
About the colored Tri-Shield: it should make its way to the Envision, since the Chinese market model has it as well. in fact, Chinese market bucks have had the colors for a few years now.
Let us see if we can find out about this specifically.
These are old pictures before they decided to ruin, I mean redesign, the shields.
Envision looks so BMW. Nothing like the beautiful Envision concept.
The concept could have easily gone four door and challenged Jaguar F-Pace.
Hate to tell you but Jag buyers aren’t X shopping Buick.
No, there is probably zero Buick/Jag cross shopping and the same can be said for BMW, too.
I do think, however, that Jaguar took a novel approach to the SUV with F-Pace that Buick and other brands should consider. It fits well into that white space mantra Buick keeps humming.
That white space isn’t really the space Buick is ultimately going after. Now, Cadillac on the other hand…
Looks great Buick needs it, But I’ll buy one when it is built in the USA, NOT CHINA
Only 2 models is a great idea but some of the standard stuff on the premium II should be an option on the Preminum I. Things such as cooled front seats should be standard across the board.
Not too worried about it being built in China. I understand the fit and finish is excellent form what I read. Check the back of your Iphone to see where it’s built.
