While the 2016 Chevrolet Volt wraps up its extremely stinted first model year across select markets in the United States, our friends south of the border are taking in all the latest PHEV from Chevy has to offer.
General Motors Mexico officially announced the 2016 Chevrolet Volt is available across select cities in the country, making it the second electrified vehicle in the brand’s Mexican lineup; the first being the 2015 Chevrolet Spark EV.
Everything we know and love about the second-generation Chevrolet Volt is present and accounted for with the Mexican market vehicle, including the superb 50 mile, pure-electric driving range and a combined range of over 400 miles.
“With the arrival of Volt, Chevrolet is confirmed as the industry leader in the development of alternatively powered vehicles, and as demonstrated by awards such as the Green Car of the Year which was awarded to Volt just weeks ago at the International Auto Show Los Angeles, “said Erika de Witt, Marketing Manager for Chevrolet Cars.
The 2016 Volt launch comes after GM Mexico partnered with General Electric to understand the conditions of use, infrastructure and economic factors necessary to facilitate the adoption of electric vehicles in the country.
