The 2016 Chevrolet Volt continues to surprise for the better recently. Yesterday, we brought to you news on the 2016 Volt achieving 68 mpg on the highway during a fuel economy loop, but this may be even better news.
Wayne Gerdes had recently picked up his brand new 2016 Volt and decided it was time to measure how well the PHEV could really do. With the weather on his side, he set off to see how many miles he could achieve on one single electric charge.
After noting the last few miles were nail-biting worthy, the 2016 Volt ran out of charge at 111.9 miles without a single drop of gasoline. Gerdes notes, in his time spent with the car thus far, that he think the 2016 Volt could actually achieve even greater results if it weren’t for the elevation changes in his part of California.

A 80 mile range was expected for the Gen 2 Volt. Some can reach 90 miles, but this was a nice surprise and even a new record.
What is the point of this all none real world driving. Just get me real miles out of the car!
So the Chev Volt in the video was traveling fake miles all along?
