Following news of the 2016 Chevrolet SS availability being pushed back to early 2016, we finally have concrete news from the brand on when we can expect the 2016 Holden VF Commodore Series II‘s yankee cousin. And we know how much it will cost for you to own the last rear-wheel drive, V8 powered sedan, courtesy of Holden.
The 2016 SS performance sedan will start at $46,575 plus a $995 destination fee. Taking only base prices, excluding destination, that shows a minor price jump of $830 from a base 2015 Chevrolet SS.
Once again, the SS will arrive fully loaded, with the only two options being a full-size spare tire for an additional $500, and a power sunroof for $900.
The 2016 SS adds a few enhancements over its Commodore Series I based cousin, including a new, bi-modal exhaust to help the 6.2-liter LS3 V8 clear its throat but cruise quieter, new 19-inch cast aluminum wheels distinct to the Chevy SS and a revised front fascia for greater aerodynamics.
When we reached out for comment, Chevrolet told us the very first shipment of 2016 SS performance sedans are currently en route from Australia as you read this, and should be arriving at dealerships soon.
