2016 Chevrolet Silverado Special Ops Concept Confirmed For Production

Of the bountiful concepts Chevrolet brought to the 2015 SEMA show, the 2016 Chevrolet Silverado Special Ops concept garnered quite a bit of attention of them all. Arguably, it’s a great looking truck, and the Naval-inspired “Razzle Dazzle” camouflage paint scheme turned quite a few heads.

Well, those of you who have fallen in love with the concept will have a chance to purchase one straight from your local Chevrolet dealership. Yes, Chevrolet has announced the 2016 Silverado Special Ops is heading to production.

The announcement came with the news of Chevy’s continued sponsorship of the annual Army-Navy game. The brand announced the truck will be produced in a limited production run, and a portion of the proceeds from each Special Operations Silverado sold will benefit the Navy SEAL Museum.

There has been no official word on what equipment from the concept will translate to the production, special edition truck, but nearly everything from the concept seems to be fairly feasible. That includes the very cool Ejector Orange accent colors on the door handles and glove box.

Chevrolet said it expects the 2016 Silverado Special Ops to go on sale during spring of 2016.

  2. General Motors really wants to get into the Hummer business to get something that can take on Jeep and while the Special Ops concept is nice, it’s not really much different than something that someone went nuts with aftermarket bits which appear to be LED lights.

  3. If you like the truck or not you have to atleast give Chevy kudos for building specialty trucks . Something that didn’t occur even a few years ago .
Why can’t GM bring back the Hummer ?

  4. Give Special Ops troops the vehicle at cost and interest free. Thank you for your service. Give the rest of us the Cheyenne 2WD regular cab short box already.

  5. Agree completely with Jamel! Build a true Raptor fighter and I’ll be one of the first to order! Until then, my 2015 6.2, 8 speed, Method
wheels, King shocks, Borla cat back and aluminum skid plates by Baja Fabrication will have to do!
