It’s safe to say 2015 was the year of Camaro. Chevrolet dropped the 2016 Camaro at Belle Isle earlier this year, whet our palettes with a first drive of the V6 prototypes, won more than a few comparison tests and was named 2015 Car of the Year.
That’s pretty good considering the 2016 Chevrolet Camaro has just begun reaching dealers across the U.S. But, we have pricing for the other Camaro variant now: the 2016 Camaro convertible.
According to the CamaroNews, pricing for the drop-top variant of the sixth-generation Camaro will be as follows:
- 1LT (turbo-four): $33,695
- 1LT (V6): $35,190
- 2LT (turbo-four): $37,795
- 2LT (V6): $39,290
- 1SS (V8): $44,295
- 2SS (V8): $49,295
The 2SS has reached new heights for a Camaro regarding price tags, but goodies available at that particular trim do create one heck of a value proposition.
So, what will it be? Coupe, or convertible? Talk to us in the comments section below.

Well if you look at it like this, a 2SS drop top with all the options costs about the same as a base stingray hard top and your getting roughly if not more equipment such as the identical motor. Hard top 2LT for me with a sunroof is my choice.
A base 2016 Corvette Stingray Coupe’s MSRP is $56 395. The difference of $7,100 from a 2016 Camaro 2SS convertible is hardly “about the same “. In fact, it’s a huge difference. Comparing a car’s price with “all the options” to another with no options is not a fair comparison.
Coupe ofcourse
This is what Cadillac President Johan de Nysschen is doing wrong.. as Chevy has a convertible for the new Camaro yet there is no droptop scheduled for the ATS which is totally insane.
Yet Johann has only been in office for a year and a half. You are not going to get a convertible that fast.
Let the Johann get what he is working on done and lets see just what he is offering. He has already hinted he would like to do something like 4 door drop top touring car. If he is wanting this a coupe should already be expected some where in the line. To do it though will take more than a year to 18 months to bring it to market.
I just love how people blame Johann for things when he has not even had time to complete one new product totally under his control. What we have now as all done by folks no longer at Cadillac.
Follow the time line it takes to bring new product and you will see why we have a delay in product right now. It is because they are working on the changes Johann Wants. If you are going to bust his balls at least wait till his product is out.
