Our friends to the north won’t have to wait much longer than us Yanks for the 2016 Cadillac CT6, General Motors Canada has confirmed the car will arrive in the country in March of 2016, around the same time the U.S. will see availability for the Cadillac’s latest luxury sedan.

Along with the availability announcement, Cadillac has officially priced the 2016 CT6 for Canada, too. The 2016 CT6 will start at $61,245 plus a $1,950 destination charge. Engine choices and configuration prices are as follows:

  1. Odd that NA will get this new model after China which is slated to get this model starting in January.

    1. The biggest market for this car IS China and is designed to cater to the specific taste of the Chinese customers. The 3.0 was developed to prevent the over 3.0 taxes in China.

    2. The U.S. still gets the car before Canada. Then again, we always seem to get things last up here in Canada.

    3. Note GM releases many new product overseas to clear up any nagging start up issues there first.

Others have done this for year placing them in their home markets first before the less forgiving American market.

  2. I’m happy currency conversion hasn’t affected the automotive industry. With where our dollar is currently at, cars should be priced way higher then they are. Our dollar is almost 30 cents off per dollar towards your dollar with that math a 70,000$ us model would be 100,000$ cad

    1. Read below…Our Canadian dollar is so weak, it is now at almost $1.40 Canadian to buy 1 U.S. dollar. I am about to start using my Canadian money for tissues…probably cheaper than buying Kleenex these days.

  3. The Canadian dollar is worthless…try almost 40 cents more to the U.S. dollar now!. American dollar is strong, so it is good to see the mark up not so bad. But then we also have to deal with higher sales tax…oh, boy.

  4. Friends don’t let friends get a larger luxury sedan like a CT6 (or CTS) with a 2.0L engine.

Fantastic-ly styled car, no surprise its popping up here in Canada a bit late here in March. Should be on the archaic GM Canada website by August, with the worst possible renders to look at.

And why is that? Do you think gas prices will stay level forever?

    1. I agree with him. From my experience there’s nothing luxurious about a 4 cylinder engine. No matter how expensive gas gets I’d rather be driving at least a 6.

      1. Word is that the next SWB 7 Series will have a turbo 2.0L 4 cylinder , primarily for the Chinese market.
Since the Chinese market sells a large share of these full sized luxury cars expect there to be some kind of small displacement offering from all the major players in this segment.
