Behold the first episode of the GMC #OurUAE mini-series — which shows the adventures of two travelers, Mohammad and Majed, as they tour through the United Arab Emirates (UAE) to celebrate National Day and demonstrate more about the kingdom’s culture and heritage.
They’ll travel “from the desert to the mountains, coast to coast, and everywhere in between,” to find out how their ancestors lived. Transportation during the quest is courtesy of a 2016 GMC Sierra 3500 HD, a truck that can easily take on the off-roading parts of the journey while doing so in style.
Mohammad and Majed start off in Dubai, but not before getting the Sierra stamped with an #OurUAE sticker. While the truck gets the badging, the two meet with a group called the Royal Squad Group that identify themselves as a group of 250 or so brothers who all love GMC vehicles. Some showing off is in order, as the group demonstrates their toys, including a sweet sounding exhaust.
A little later in the video we meet Ali Saeed Sarood, the Operations Manager of the Dubai Camel Racing Club. During the Q&A session, we find out about the UAE tradition of camel racing. The way the three discuss the sport makes it seem that its popularity is similar to that of horse racing here in America. The heavy investments of Sheikh Zayed are credited with saving the sport, which had dropped after cars came into the picture.
Along with the unique experiences and beautiful scenery comes trivia: “did you know that more than 50 percent of the UAE is desert?” And about 7 minutes into the clip, we see a friend of Mohammad and Majed take the giant Sierra for a joy ride through the desert, showing off the great looks of the new GMC heavy duty.
And we have to mention one our favorite features of this episode — the falcones. Ghanem Ali Al Mehairi shows off his prized falcon named Jir Shahine. Though we would be extremely intimidated by such a bird in person, we thought it was pretty awesome that one could work so closely with them. It may seem like a small appreciation to some, but it’s just one of many reasons for GM’s efforts towards sustainability.
So, grab your favorite drink, relax, and enjoy this nearly 10-minute long segment.

Is it a coincidence that the video is 9:11 long?
Is it 9:11 or 9:12 long? When I back it up to the front it says 9:12, when playing it, it says 9:11
that 9:11 thing is just too weird, you would think somebody noticed this before doing it, secret message ????
Not everything is a secret message just waiting for you to pounce on it to fulfill some paranoid fantasy.
