Vauxhall Wins ‘Best Commercial’ At London Motor Film Festival: Video

The London Motor Film Festival has become the world’s premiere automotive film festival, with this year seeing a total of 30 nominations in nine categories. One of those categories was “Best Commercial Film” and that award went to Vauxhall for its 50 Years Of Ellesmere Port commercial, which paid tribute to 50 years of service from the Ellesmere Port factory located in Cheshire, England.

The Ellesmere Port facility has produced the Vauxhall Viva, Chevette, and Astra – with the potential to currently produce 120,000 Astra models annually. The film shows some spirited driving (to put it lightly) in the Viva, Chevette HC, and Firenza, which was also built at Ellesmere. The commercial was produced by evo Films, whose work was enough to surpass entries from Bentley, Land Rover, and Ford.

If it’s any consolation, we earnestly enjoyed watching this commercial and think you will too. You could say GM’s European subsidiaries have been on the ball with recent marketing strategies, as Opel recently won a GWA Effie In Gold for its ad campaign, as well.
