Salesman Crashes C7 Corvette Z06 Into Dealership Window: Accident Watch

There does seem to be a fairly notable discrepancy between the actual knowledge car salesmen have and the knowledge that most shoppers assume they have. Take, for instance, this salesman who mistook the clutch pedal for the brake pedal on a Chevrolet C7 Corvette Z06, resulting in some damage.

Really, the damage isn’t major, but it’s rather ironic that someone whose job is selling cars makes an elementary error behind the wheel of a $95,380 Corvette. Then again, maybe we’re being too hard on this poor guy — it could’ve been an honest mistake and he depressed the clutch thinking he depressed the brake pedal… who knows? Plus, the Corvette is one of only a handful remaining vehicles offered by Chevy with a stick… so maybe the poor lad doesn’t get to drive too many of them.

Whatever the case may be, the buyer who special-ordered this Corvette Z06 isn’t going to be a happy camper, as he/she likely has been waiting quite a while for the car to be built, and likely isn’t willing to accept a damaged vehicle, even if it is repaired. And that’s not to mention the dealership’s owner, who now appears to have a broken wall and windows.

  1. You should have written “he/ she” as ‘h’ comes before ‘s’.

    1. Wow. A stickler for AMA, are we? So should we also re-arrange the words in the title based on the order in which the first letter in the word appears in the alphabet?

    2. Ehu Why not just call the buyer “they” and not have to worry about your politically correct BS.

      1. People like Ehu, you just have to take with a grain of salt. He (or she) likely changed their name from “Hue”.
These people put on their shoes before their socks, shirts before their shorts. They grab their fork, then their knife, then their spoon. They are often found alphabetizing their Tape collection (after they addressed the 8-tracks, but before the vinyl.) You just can’t reason with them. 🙂

  2. I’ll be amazed if he doesn’t get fired. That is most definitely an Elementary mistake. It’s not often that you hear about someone mistaking a clutch pedal and brake pedal, I know I wouldn’t. He shouldn’t have been behind the wheel to begin with.

  3. Not the brightest bulb in the pack. Should never use your left foot for the brake anyway.
