Opel Insignia Now Equipped With The Latest Infotainment Tech

The Opel Insignia is now available with the personal connectivity and service assistant and Navi 900 IntelliLink infotainment system with capable smartphone integration. As if all this tech weren’t convenient enough already, the connection of Opel OnStar to the internet and navigation calculation now happen in real time, eliminating the short breaks that occur when uploading a selected route.

Opel is in an exemplary position when it comes to vehicle connectivity. This is just as true for the Insignia as it is for the new Astra or the IntelliLink pioneer, the ADAM. Our flagship now comes with Opel OnStar and the ultra-modern Navi 900 IntelliLink system. This will enable us to integrate the smartphone quickly and straightforwardly via Apple CarPlay and shortly via Android Auto. This is mobile connectivity that makes sense and is fun,” said Peter Christian Küspert, Vice President Sales & Aftersales Opel Group.

We feel that the integration of Apple CarPlay is what really ties the Navi 900 and other technology together. Drivers can access Apple CarPlay maps and news services as well as additional apps; all of which can be controlled via Siri voice control, or the 8-inch touchscreen in the center counsel (see the full list of apps here). Our thoughts are that the fact that users can operate functions through their phone’s operation means that they’ll find it more useful than similar technology in the past.

If you were wondering, the Navi 900 IntelliLink comes standard in the Insignia Sport and INNOVATION trim levels, and is a 1,200 euro and 1,335 euro option for the Edition and Selection trim levels respectively.

  1. I have an insignia2014, 2.0 CDTI, 8″ display, touchscreen, pad controller… I can only listen music or to speak to the phone. No apps, no nothing else. I have IPhone 7 . When I buy the car they told me the same stuff like in this article. Can you tell me what I should do to have all this “fantastic” things? Thank you!
