We can only say a sincere “thank you” to the brilliant minds at Hennessey for creating such a beast. The Hennessey Venom GT is what happens when you let minds like ours run wild. Then, Hennessey Performance Engineering bundles them into one mix of power and performance.
Thankfully, HPE hasn’t given up on our dreams, and is gearing up to reveal its latest piece of performance prowess in the 2016 Hennessey Venom GT Spyder.
If you felt 1,261 hp wasn’t enough, HPE has added an additional 210 hp for those with the need for speed, making for a grand total of 1,451 ponies. Horsepower and torque ratings are up due to the 7.0-liter twin-turbo V8 adding the capability for E85 Flex Fuel. This has allowed boost to increase from 19 psi, to 26 psi.
“Being the fastest matters”, said company founder and president, John Hennessey. “We are intent on keeping the Venom as the fastest, best performing and most exciting hypercar on the road”.
Projected performance stats for the latest HPE creation are as follows:
- 0-60 mph: 2.4 seconds
- 0-100 mph: 4.4 seconds
- 0-200 mph: 12.8 seconds
- ¼ mile: 9.4 seconds at 167 mph
- Top Speed: 280+ mph
Hennessy says he and his company are committed to keeping the performance throne in their court, as the 2016 Venom GT will be produced in limited numbers before the Hennessey Venom F5 comes to fruition.
“We only plan to produce a handful of Venom GT’s in 2016 as we are also preparing for our next evolution, the Venom F5”, said Hennessey. “We plan to demonstrate our improved power and performance both in terms of straight line acceleration as well as road course handling and lap time performance”.
