GMC #OurUAE Wowed 2015 Dubai Motor Show Attendees

On November 2nd,  GMC launched an eight-part mini-series called #OurUAE. The series consists of two Emirates exploring the nation. But Big Red took the series a step further at the 2015 Dubai International Motor Show, giving visitors to its booth a chance to immerse themselves in the GMC #OurUAE off-road virtual reality experience.

Climbing into the passenger seat of the liveried 2016 GMC Sierra 3500 HD, visitors were able to join the two heroes of the #OurUAE as they take the Sierra off the road.

Those who took part in the #OurUAE virtual reality experience had the following reactions:

  • “I love that the view of the desert was so clear – you really feel like you are there,” said Matthew Santhosh, a senior executive living in Fujairah. “I am someone who enjoys off-road driving, so it was definitely different to be sitting in the passenger seat. I have to say, I have never experienced anything like this before at an auto show. It is a first!”
  • “It was a truly great experience,” echoed Yeya Ekstrom, a Swedish dance choreographer. “I really liked how you felt like you were being taken on a journey and guided by an Emirati who knows the ropes. I immediately recognized that feeling that you get when you are navigating the desert landscape. It was exciting.”
  • “GMC’s immersive virtual reality simulation allowed me to feel everything: the speed, the vibrations, and the different movements!” explained Sara Mohammed, who works as an accountant. “Just the size of the car, its height and its colors all work together to attract the crowds. Great idea!”
  • “What a feeling – truly unforgettable!” commented George Giannakis, a publisher and photographer from Greece. “I discovered parts of the UAE that I had never seen before. This is a truly innovative idea by GMC. Instead of simply telling or showing customers the Sierra’s features – we actually got to feel them!”

The #OurUAE series will culminate on the UAE’s National Day on December 2nd. Stay tuned as we bring you coverage of the series.
